A comprehensive set of foundational security controls required on a macOS workstation: identity and auto-lock, FileVault disk encryption, System Integrity Protection and Gatekeeper integrity, application firewall, disabling unnecessary remote/sharing services, automatic updates and XProtect/EDR, centralized management and logging via MDM. Framework: SANS CIS Controls v8; concrete values from CIS Apple macOS Benchmark, NIST macOS Security, and Apple Platform Security.
